I am now on activity 46.
For this activity we had to read the story called Nobody Laughed.
We had to think what was in Aiden's bag.
As a bonus activity we had to design a t shirt or something and Zhush it.
I also did the bonus activity.
Anyways Here is mine........
Bonus activity.
Here it is...........
Make sure to give me some feedback.
Thank you

ReplyDeleteI like your critical thinking about Aiden's secret thing being a teddy bear! My son used to have a stuffed dog called Tommy that he took everywhere with him but like you say, he probably would have been embarrassed if he was found with it in his bag at primary school. Isn't it interesting that boys are more likely to be stereotyped this way than girls? For example, a girl carrying a soft toy in her bag, would be viewed as totally 'normal' or even valued. Arn't girls expected to be "strong" too? Or is it that carrying a teddy bear (or other soft toy) shouldn't really be a measure of your strength, whether you are a boy or girl?
I wonder what others commenting think as well?
Look forward to the replies
Naomi
Kia Ora Naomi,
DeleteYes I thought a teddy bear because boys always get stereotyped.
It is very interesting that boys always get stereotyped for example if they had a little stuffed bear people will like tease them.
Girls are just as strong as boys.
I don't think a stuffed bear measures your strength whether its a girl or boy.
Thank you
You are such a deep thinker and I really like that! YES, us girls ARE as strong as boys and I agree, a stuffed animal (bear or even a unicorn or a Pokemon!) isn't a measure of your strength. I suppose though, some parents might say that by the time you get to a certain age you shouldn't need to carry a teddy bear around with you for comfort? I would be interested in your thoughts on that idea.

My name is Quein and I am a blog commenter for the Manaiakalani Summer Learning Journey. I am very impressed with the design of your t-shirt, you used an awesome assortment of colors and a very powerful word. I love that you created a theme of peace and love for your t-shirt, this post will definitely raise awareness to your fellow bloggers about the need for more peace and love in the world especially during these turbulent times. It is great to see you think about Aiden's secret. I am very impressed with your excellent work ethic, creativity and your wonderful designs such as the t-shirt. We really enjoy your blog posts as they are clear, concise, enagaiang and we can see that you put a lot of thought and effort into the task- Ka Pai!!!
You should be very proud of your creative mahi!!!
I agree with Naomi that carrying around a teddy bear nowadays would not be a negative thing if you are a boy or a girl. My brother still has his teddy bear in his room and he is now 21 and he is definitely stronger than me. I think the world is slowly moving away from the stereotypes of what is expected of boys and girls. It is moving towards a more inclusive and open minded world where there are no stereotypes that are placed on girls and boys. What do you think?
Keep up the Super work I look forward to your next blog post!!!
Ngā mihi,
Quein
