Kia ora Khadija. Cool boat. I like how you've included a sail. Did you test it out on the water? I think the fact you have two bottles on the bottom means it would float pretty well.
Hi Phill, Yes it does look cool. I tested it out in my baby sisters small swimming pool. It floated and it was a little windy so it moved by itself. Thank you.
My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the summer learning journey.
I really enjoyed this activity as I used to love making boats with my brother and racing them down the creek!
I think your boat looks good and it is great to see you using some recycled materials you found around the house. Did you test your boat on some water, did it float? What do you think you could have used or done differently to improve your boat?
What did you enjoy about this activity and what did you find challenging?
Keep up the good work and I hope to see more of your posts during the Summer Learning Journey!!
Hi Zana, Yes it was very fun and cool to make a boat out of recycled materials that we found around the house. We put it in my baby sisters small swimming pool to see if it will float, and it did. I think I could've added some more materials to make it look cooler, but I thought it would be fine just to leave it like that. I liked this activity because we were using recycled rubbish or things that were lying around the house and it teaches people that you can make anything with anything like recycled trash. I think the thing I found most challenging was putting the elastic bands around the bottles because they kept on ripping apart so I just had to use some hair ties. Thank you
It sounds like you had a lot of fun making it which is awesome, the summer learning journey is all about having fun and trying new activities.
I agree it is great to learn to reuse, reduce and recycle and using old materials to make new things is a great way to practice that. Have you made anything else out of recycled materials? I try to reuse old clothes as cleaning cloths or make new clothes using my sewing machine.
