 Hi Bloggers,

I am now on activity 43.

This is another poetry slam activity.

For this activity we had to create a clerihew poem.

Here is mine............

Also Hears a Video of me reading my poem..........

How do you think I went?
Make sure to give me some feedback.
Thank you

  1. Kia ora Khadija!

Your poem gave me a great LIFT this morning as I laughed aloud when I got to the line about Dr Seuss's "smelly shoes". You have a wonderful imagination! I am very fond of Dr Seuss stories because of the repeating rhymes and the moral messages in the narrative. My favourite is The Lorax. Have you read it?

I am interested to find out why you chose Dr Seuss as subject for your Clerihew poem and whether you have a favourite Dr Seuss book?

I look forward to your reply.

    2. Thanks for the reply! I am SO glad that Green Eggs and Ham is your favourite because I probably would have chosen that one as my second one! Are there any of the Dr Seuss books that you haven't read? I'm thinking maybe, if you up for it, we could find one we HAVEN't read (unless you've read them all - seeing as he's your favourite author!) and then read it and compare notes...but only if you have time. I plan to go to my library tomorrow so I'm gonna take a look then. Ok see you later, have a great day!

Chris here, again! Tēnā koe for completing another task! How did you find this poetry one, did you enjoy it?

I think it went well! Great idea to use Dr. Seuss as the subject of a clerihew poem, considering his work was all based around rhyming! Have you read much of his stories?

Looking forward to seeing what you post over these last couple of weeks!

    Ngā mihi!

  3. Kia ora Khadija. Thanks for sharing another great poem. I like the way you have presented it as a poster. Have you read some of the other poetry slam entries? And have you thought about recording your poem using Screencastify? I also love Dr Seuss books. I remember my dad reading them to me when I was little.
