Summer Learning Journey Activity 37

 Hi Bloggers,

I am now on activity 37.

This was another activity which was in Te Reo.

For this activity we had to create a board/poster and sell a product.

We had to reduce the price by at least 10%.

Again my sister helped me.

Here is mine..........

Do you like my idea?
Please give me some feedback.
Thank you

  1. Wow Khadija! Great job with advertising reduced price donuts!

I really like your co-ordinated design of the colours (chocolate and strawberry donuts) with the background. I also like that you have chosen a white font so we can clearly read the sale offer. I do wonder, for next time, if you could increase the font size of the main text as you have plenty of space and it would mean your reader doesn't have to zoom in to read the text.
Can you also tell me what percentage saving I would get if I bought either the 8 pack or the 16 pack? The activity stated "up to 30%" but I would be interested in exactly what percentage saving I am getting.
I really like that you have included the "Make sure you don't miss out!" line, which is thoughtful use of advertising language to motivate your buyers! I look forward to your replay. Nga mihi, Naomi (Manaiakalani Facilitator)

    1. Kia Ora Naomi,
I love the background too and i'm very happy you like it as well.
Sorry that you had to zoom in because. I'll fix the font size right now.
Well if it's 30% of then it means $3 are saved.
Also if you buy the 8 pack you get 2 extra donuts and if you buy the 16 pack donuts you get 5 extra donuts.
      Thank you

  2. Ata mārie Khadija!

Chris here again, from the Summer Learning Journey 2021/2022!

Tēnā koe for completing another task! Did you enjoy this activity? How do you find the tasks that are posted in te reo? I’m still trying to learn it!

This poster is rad, even better that your sister helped you! Really awesome that you and your sister get along and like working together. Your maths is great here as well. A 10% of a $14 pack of donuts is $1.40, so 20% would be $2.80, which is NEARLY $3 off, which is what you’ve made your sale price: $11. But THEN you through in two free donuts, at $1.75 a donut (14, the price, divided by 8, the number of donuts, = 1.75), which is a total saving of $6.30, which is a total saving of a bit over 30%! Ka pai!

I also love the colour coordination of the background and the donuts, did you come up with that as well? Really nice to see all this creativity being displayed, Khadija. Also really like the sound of those special flavours! I don’t usually like donuts, but this post has made me consider going and getting some. Do you normally like donuts?

I’m looking forward to seeing what else you post in these last couple of weeks!

    Ngā mihi,
    Chris

    1. Kia Ora Chris,
I really loved and enjoyed this activity.
I find the tasks that are posted in Te Reo Maori challenging but with the help of my sister it gets a little more easier and less challenging.
Well I don't mind math but I found the math a little confusing in this activity so I asked my sister to also help me.
I wanted the sale to be 30% of and add a few extra donuts to each box.
Yes I came up with the idea of the background.
If you look at all of my other posts I have a background that matches the topic.
Yes I love donuts and my mum makes so many batches of donuts.
      Thank you

  3. That's really cool that your mum makes donuts, and even cooler that your posts are all colour coordinated! I haven't seen everything you've done, but I'll have to go back and have a look!

    Ka kite!
