Summer Learning Journey Activity 11

 Hey bloggers,

I am now on activity 11.

You are supposed to interview someone and ask about their family and there family history.

I interviewed my Mum but I couldn't add the photo of her.....

Here is mine.....

Make sure to give me some feedback.
Thank you

It is wonderful to read a bit about your family and where they come from. You mum sounds like an extraordinary person. Relocating across the world to a new country and raising four children - wow! That's amazing. Your brother and father are a bit outnumbered by all the girls :) Do your parents also live with you in New Zealand, or are they still in Afghanistan?

It's also cool that your mym shares her first name with Malalai Yousafzai, the world's youngest nobel peace prize recipient.

Keep up the great blogging, Khadija! I look forward to reading and looking at more of your posts.

  2. I meant to ask whether your grandparents live with you in New Zealand, not your parents :)

    1. Hi Ruby,
Yes my grandparents live in NZ. They fled Afganistan beacause of the war when my mum was about 6 months old. They have been living in NZ since then.
      Thank you

My name is Charlotte and I am from the Manaiakalani Summer Learning Journey team!

Thank you so much for sharing a part of your family onto your blog! Your mum sounds like a superhero! Raising four children, and moving to the other side of the world! Do your grandparents still live in Afghanistan?

Did you learn anything new about your mum when doing this interview? Is there anything else you’d like to ask her?

Just a reminder to proofread your blog! You wrote that you interviewed your dad, but you included a photo of your interview with your mum.

    Awesome mahi here, Khadija!

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Charlotte :)

  4. Hi Charlotte,
No my grandparents don't still live in Afghanistan.
I already knew these questions I asked my mum but it was fun interviewing her. Sorry I didn't proof read my work. I'll edit that rn.
    Thank you

I scrolled up and read the other comments and saw that they fled Afghanistan a while ago. That must have been tough- they must be very strong!!

Amazing that you already know the answers! How about you have a go at writing your own patai (questions) and ask your mum them? It could be fun!!

Nice work editing your post- makes more sense now!

      Ngā mihi nui,
      Charlotte :)
